Give these new movies a break - Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace Reviews

If these new movies were truly awful I could understand all the bad remarks that people give them. I think that they should be cut some slack. Not only is the new Star Wars films the prequel to one of the greatest movie epics of our time(something we have been waiting on since the end of Return of the Jedi), but they are fine movies in their own right. A lot of the disappointment that fans feel I think stems from the fact that these are not the original trilogy(ie...not the same characters)The wait for these movies was long indeed, and im sure the fan hype was ungodly. Again this is not the original trilogy...but it was never intended to be.
